Afraid.
That would be the best word to express how many people feel these days. They are afraid of being alone and, at the same time, are afraid to be close to people, even their loved ones. They have been hurt and do not want to be hurt again.
Living in fear of being left alone is no way to live, nor is being afraid of being close to people because you are sure they are going to hurt you. It is a life of not living fully.
When you get stuck in the middle like this, what do you do to get past the hard spot, to the side with no fear? How do you put aside the fear of being hurt to live fully and love completely?

Miel recommended a song in her comment below. I have added the video on my P.S. Annie! blog as part of the All About Me series of posts.
I love Jimmy Eat World song, "The Middle." It helps me get through the tough, stuck parts.
ReplyDeleteAll the lyrics are great, but these are a few of my favorite lines:
"Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out or looked down on.
Just try your best, try everything you can.
And don't you worry what they tell themselves when you're away.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything (everything) will be just fine, everything (everything) will be alright (alright)."

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this with me. I will have to look for this song because it sounds like it is a really good one!
Thank you again and have a great evening, Miel. :)
