This page will contain information and links for charities and causes that are close to my heart.
David and I have a friend who is living with Retinitis Pigmentosa. He has been blind since high school. He has had three guide dogs since we met him at the University of South Carolina way back in the early 1980s. Pilot was the first. Then came Hickory, and now he has Major.
Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc. provides guide dogs for people like our friend and many others around the country. This service is free of charge to the visually impaired. It is not free, however, to raise, feed, and train these puppies. This is where you can help. There are volunteer opportunities as well as opportunities to sponsor a guide dog at various levels. Here is the link to their main page: Southeastern Guide Dogs and the link to the page explaining about sponsorship levels: Sponsorships.
Our friend lost his wife almost 2 years ago. He seeks to raise $3,500 in order to sponsor a guide dog puppy and name it in his late wife's memory. Please help us to help him reach his goal. You can give through the PayPal "Donate" button on this site, or go directly to his site for more information: Major's House.
Thank you!
