One of this week's Writer's Workshop prompts is:
Write a poem about starting over.
You started something.
You tried to sway me.
You flustered me
With your brattitude
...and gorgeous grin.
You messed me up.
You knocked me down.
You broke my heart
With your arrogance
...and wandering eyes.
The world stopped spinning
And I stood straight
Put the pieces back
I opened my eyes
...and started over.

This blog will be for sharing whatever is on my mind at the moment. One day it might be about a book or a recipe that I have enjoyed-or didn't! Another day, it could be about hopes and dreams, family antics, or genealogy how-to ideas. It will be randomly random, as in some posts will be "this day of the week fun" and others will be just whatever is on my mind at the time. I look forward to your comments.

Great use of end stops! I like the flow of the poem! Congrats, girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great poem! I love the flow and your words really touched me! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Miel and Barbara!
ReplyDeletePrompted poetry is kind of hard for me. It is easier for me when it just comes to me on its own. But, maybe by practicing with prompted poetry, it will unlock the flow of those from the heart, too. It's worth a shot, right?
Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement and for stopping by to comment. I appreciate it very much!
