1. When severe weather happens, generally speaking, are you ready for it?
Yes, and I rather like it. I love a good storm. One of my goals is to see a tornado and be able to photograph it (from a safe distance, of course). I'm more prone to go toward the storm than away from it when it is just me and my husband on a drive. If the kids are with us, we might chase it for a little while, but generally head home. We considered the evacuation for Hurricane Rita in 2005 as a vacation. It was fun!
2. If you could wake up tomorrow with a new talent, what would it be?
There are so many talents that I would love to have, but the first one that I thought of was that I would love to have an angelic singing voice rather than the one that I have. Heavenly Father says to make a joyful noise, but I don't think that He intended for it to cause others to run away, covering their ears in pain. :)
3. What do you strive for in life?
Security. I need to know that I will not be left alone and the worse this memory loss gets, the more insecure I am.
4. If you were given a vacation home and you could have it anywhere, what location would you choose?
Ireland...anywhere in Ireland would make me ecstatic.
5. Do you feel energized or drained by being in a group situation? If the answer is "it depends," on what does it depend?
I am extremely uncomfortable in group situations, so I guess drained would be the best word for it. Terrified is more like it.
6. When you're sick, do you take "sick days" or do you force yourself to continue working?
I generally have to keep working no matter what or how I feel. If I wait until I am well, it may never happen.
7. What is your absolute favorite piece of furniture you have and why?
Our piano, while not technically furniture, is my favorite piece of furniture. It is big and strong and old. It was built the same year that my great-grandma was born - 1895. It is a beautiful black mahogany, sorely out of turn, but absolutely beautiful to me. If I had to choose only one piece of furniture to take with me in a move, it would be that piano.
8. When you go out, where do you like to go? What do you like to do?
I like to go for long drives in the country. I like to watch for fields of flowers and red bars and unique architecture. I like to visit cemeteries and read the markers and imagine what their lives were like, to piece together history, theirs with the world at the time they lived. I love to visit historic places.
9. How's life? Is it treating you well right now?
Mostly, it is confusing me right now, but maybe that will pass.
