I haven't been outside to see if the zombies are walking or not, but I'm still here, in my room, on my computer, and the internet is still working. The lights are still on, no power outage here. You would think there would be a power outage or something really big to make an impression.
So, either the doomsayers were wrong, or I wasn't as strong a believer as I thought I was.
I prefer to think they were wrong, and I know they were wrong.
I've seen billboards around proclaiming that yesterday (May 21) would be the end of the world. Yeah, right. How is it that they are so *sure* that was to be the day when Jesus says that nobody knows, not even the angels, only the Father?
Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."
Written in red. There you have it, the words of Christ Himself.
I don't know. To say otherwise just strikes me as plain wrong. Basically, they are calling Jesus a liar, saying that they know more than He does, when they are only mere humans.
How can someone claim to be a true believer, yet call the Savior a liar? And if He is, then why claim loyalty to and believe in Him? It doesn't make sense to follow someone that you believe to be wrong. That whole thought really freaks with my logic chip.
As I understand it, this was a second-time-around guess for the person that predicted this "end of the world". OK, so now, they're two strikes down.
Do you reckon that they'll learn that Jesus meant what He said with the whole nobody knows thing?
We don't know; we can't know. But we can live the way that we know we should, truly believe, and be ready for when it does happen.
I guess this could be considered a second chance, or third chance, whatever, for those wondering where their faith should lie.
For me, I'm going to stick my faith on the One that never lies and has been proven true many times over.
Right on, sister! The day will come when He wants it to, not when some fanatics decide it's the day it should be.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I wonder if it even phases them that they were wrong, or how much damage they cause with such things?
All we can do is pray for them to open their eyes to the truth.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Miel. :)
